Research: I study the relationship between industrialization, migration, and environment in the 19th and 20th centuries in the United States. I would like to understand how these are connected, and how industrialization impacted rural people and places, specifically in the Pacific Northwest.

Platform: As treasurer, my goal is to ensure that all graduate history students are fully aware of their funding opportunities at Boston College. In addition to making this knowledge accessible, I will help students with the application processes. My interest in making conferences and research more accessible to students will guide my tenure as treasurer.

Favorite Areas in Boston: Walking around Scollay Square, The Combat Zone, and The West End, and imagining how they looked before urban renewal (with help from Dirty Old Boston!). Also, Charlie’s (but that’s technically Cambridge, I know, I know).

What I’m looking forward to the most this academic year: Investigating radical loggers and timber beasts!
